Ray Parlour states prediction for Stoke City v Man United
The former Arsenal midfielder believes Manchester United will return to winning ways at Stoke City
Ray Parlour is confident that Manchester United will make a swift return to winning ways at Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils had to battle from 1-0 down to rescue a point against their bitter rivals Liverpool last weekend after Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s 84th-minute header salvaged a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.
The 20-time English champions had won nine games on the spin before their 1-1 stalemate with title rivals Liverpool.
Jose Mourinho’s side are in sixth place in the Premier League table and 12 points adrift of current leaders Chelsea.
Manchester United will make the trip to Stoke in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon in search of three points.
Speaking to the Alan Brazil Up Front podcast, former Arsenal midfielder Parlour backed the Red Devils to ease to a 2-1 win against Mark Hughes’s side.
“I’ve gone for a Manchester United win as well. They’ll have a little bit too much quality,” Parlour said.
“It’s a free game for Stoke. Getting a draw against Manchester United is a positive result. I just think Manchester United need a reaction. They showed some spirit coming back and getting a draw against Liverpool. They’ll move on and get the win. I’ve got 2-1 win Manchester United.”
Manchester United finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last term.
Mourinho was appointed as Louis van Gaal’s successor after the Red Devils missed out on a Champions League spot.
