Michael Owen states his prediction for Stoke v Man United

Michael Owen looks ahead to Manchester United's Premier League clash against Stoke on Saturday

Michael Owen is tipping Manchester United’s clash against Stoke City on Saturday to be a tight, low-scoring affair.

Manchester United head into the game looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League after their 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Anfield last weekend.

The Red Devils have been in much improved form under new boss Jose Mourinho in recent weeks and are on a 16-game unbeaten run in all competitions.

However, former Manchester United striker Owen is expecting to see a tight game when the Red Devils make the trip to the Britannia Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “Peter Crouch is just one away from joining the 100 Club – players who have reached a ton or more Premier League goals, and good luck to the much-travelled striker who has been a credit to his profession.

“He may have to wait for another week, however, and I expect to see a tight, close game in the Potteries with few chances.”

Mourinho has been tasked with steering Manchester United back to the top of English football after the disappointment of their fifth-placed finish under Louis van Gaal last season.

The Portuguese coach was brought in as the Dutchman’s successor at Old Trafford in the summer of 2016.
