Thierry Henry: Chelsea under no pressure ahead of Tottenham derby
The Sky Sports pundit says Arsenal and Liverpool's stalemates have taken the pressure off Chelsea ahead of Spurs clash
Thierry Henry believes Arsenal and Liverpool’s stalemates have taken the pressure off Chelsea ahead of their trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night.
The Reds squandered the chance to move to within five points of the Premier League leaders after a frustrating 2-2 draw with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Monday afternoon.
Arsenal had to come from 3-0 down to rescue a 3-3 draw in the final 11 minutes at Bournemouth on Tuesday night as the Gunners were left eight points adrift of Chelsea ahead of the London derby at White Hart Lane.
Antonio Conte’s side are looking to equal Arsenal’s record 14-game winning run in the Premier League but will face a Tottenham side that have scored eight times in their last two top-flight outings.
Speaking to Sky Sports after Arsenal’s 3-3 draw with Tottenham on Tuesday night, Henry claimed that Arsenal and Liverpool have helped take the pressure off Chelsea.
“It’s still a long way to go. The only think I would say is Chelsea saw Liverpool draw and Arsenal do the same,” Henry said.
“They’re going to go to White Hart Lane without the pressure everyone wanted to put on them. Can Tottenham do it? We’ll see tomorrow.”
Chelsea have beaten Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham during their 13-game winning run.
