Thierry Henry has heaped praise on Tottenham Hotspur’s defence after Saturday’s 4-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion at White Hart Lane.
The north London side secured their sixth successive Premier League victory after Harry Kane’s first hat-trick of the season and Gareth McAuley’s own goal.
While Tottenham impressed with their fluid attacking performance against the Baggies, Mauricio Pochettino’s defence kept their third clean sheet in all competitions.
Indeed, Spurs easily have the best defensive record in the Premier League after conceding just 14 times in 21 games which is better than Antonio Conte’s leaders Chelsea.
Toby Alderweireld was named Match of the Day’s defender of the year for 2016 after the Belgium international returned from injury last month.
Speaking to Sky Sports after Tottenham’s 4-0 win against West Brom, Arsenal legend Henry delivered a glowing verdict on Pochettino’s defence.
“They look very dangerous every time they play with that system [with three at the back]. They look in control of the game every single time, it doesn’t matter who they play against,” said Henry.
Tottenham finished in third place in the Premier League table last season.
