Thierry Henry makes bold Tottenham prediction about Harry Kane

The Arsenal legend is backing Tottenham star Harry Kane to break Alan Shearer's record of 260 Premier League goals

Thierry Henry believes Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane can beat Alan Shearer’s record goal haul in the Premier League.

The England international scored hat-trick in Tottenham’s 4-0 win against West Bromwich Albion at White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon.

Kane has a remarkable record in the English top flight so far this season after a return to 14 goals in 16 games in the Premier League.

The 23-year-old finished as the Premier League’s leading goal-scorer last term after the centre-forward netted 25 times in 37 games.

Kane has scored 62 goals in his Premier League career so far which is 198 short of Shearer’s record tally of 260 top-flight goals.

Asked whether Kane could beat Shearer’s record in the Premier League with such a long way to go in the Tottenham man’s career, Arsenal legend Henry said:

“I think he can do it. Why not? It is possible. Everything that is going to happen in his life needs to be right to beat the big man Alan Shearer. He can definitely do it. Why not?” Henry told Sky Sports.

Henry scored 175 goals during two spells at Arsenal in the Premier League.
