Thierry Henry reacts to Arsenal’s 3-3 draw with Bournemouth
Thierry Henry has his say as Arsenal come from three goals down to earn a 3-3 draw with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium
Thierry Henry was pleased to see Arsenal’s players look disappointed despite their thrilling three-goal comeback against Bournemouth on Tuesday night.
The north London side found themselves three goals down early in the second half at the Vitality Stadium after goals from Charlie Daniels, Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser.
However, Arsene Wenger’s men battled back and claimed a point thanks to second-half strikes from Alexis Sanchez, Lucas Perez and Olivier Giroud.
The Gunners players looked somewhat subdued at the final whistle despite the manner of their thrilling comeback.
And Henry says that is the reaction he would expect from the Arsenal players.
Henry told Sky Sports after the game: “I think it’s a normal attitude. They showed character, yes. They played well in the last 30 minutes.
“Especially after Bournemouth went down to 10 men, I thought Arsenal would score a fourth, but they didn’t.
“It’s 3-3. I like the fact that they were not happy at the end of the game because that tells me they want to be champions.”
On Giroud’s display, Henry added: “Giroud deserves it. He believed in it the whole night and that’s one of his goals, that’s what he does best.
“Again, a big goal against West Brom, and an amazing goal against Palace, two assists today and another important goal.”
The draw left Arsenal in fourth place in the Premier League table and eight points behind leaders Chelsea ahead of the Blues’ trip to Tottenham on Wednesday night.
