The Arsenal legend heaps praise on Lucas Perez after the striker's impressive opening Premier League goal
Thierry Henry has heaped praise on Lucas Perez after the Arsenal striker’s stunning volley in a 3-3 draw with Bournemouth on Tuesday night.
The Spanish striker scored his first Premier League goal in style at the Vitality Stadium after Perez volleyed past Bournemouth goalkeeper Artur Boruc from the edge of the penalty area.
The summer signing’s stunning strike helped Arsene Wenger’s side to rescue a 3-3 draw after the north London side were trailing the Cherries after 58 minutes on the south coast.
Perez has now scored six goals in 10 appearances in all competitions since his £19m move to Arsenal from Deportivo La Coruna in the summer transfer window.
Speaking on Sky Sports after Arsenal’s thrilling 3-3 draw with Bournemouth on Tuesday night, Henry highlighted Perez for special praise after the striker opened his Premier League account in style.
“I love the movement of Lucas Perez and what a volley. He has to turn and look at the ball… then what a finish,” Henry said.
“That isn’t easy when he has to swivel to see the ball coming.”
Arsenal are in fifth place in the Premier League table and eight points behind leaders Chelsea after 20 games.
The Gunners finished in second place last term.
