Thierry Henry reacts to Tottenham’s 4-0 win over West Brom
Harry Kane scored a hat-trick as Tottenham Hotspur moved up to second place in the Premier League table
Thierry Henry praised Tottenham for their impressive display as Harry Kane scored a hat-trick to fire the Lilywhites to a 4-0 win over West Brom on Saturday.
The north London side were in impressive form and former Arsenal striker Henry says that playing three defenders suits the Lilywhites.
Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, Henry said: “They look good. I like it when they play with a back three.
“I said it before, they were strong at The Emirates when they played against Arsenal. We know what happened here when they played against Chelsea with a back three, and again today.
“I don’t know why they don’t do it all the time because I think it suits the team and the players that they have. You could see Rose and Walker enjoyed it. Dembele and Wanyama had to protect the defence.”
He continued: “Tottenham were unplayable at times, the way they were passing the ball on the ground.
“They were calm and composed, scoring goals. Harry Kane could have scored two more goals easily. It was a great performance from Tottenham.”
Kane gave Tottenham the lead in the 12th minute at White Hart Lane, before a Gareth McAuley own goal made it 2-0 before the break.
And the England international then finished twice late on to complete his hat-trick and hand Tottenham a comfortable win over the Baggies in north London.
The thumping victory left Tottenham in second place in the Premier League table and four points behind leaders Chelsea ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
The Lilywhites now turn their attentions towards their crunch clash with Manchester City next Saturday afternoon.
