Thierry Henry: This is what sets Chelsea apart this season
Thierry Henry says Chelsea's ability to defend is one of the key ingredients of their success this season
Thierry Henry believes that Chelsea’s ability to defend and absorb pressure has been one of the key factors behind their fine form this season.
The Blues took another step closer towards winning the Premier League title this season when they beat Hull City 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon to move eight points clear at the top of the table.
Chelsea’s remarkable upturn in form this season has been in stark contrast to their struggles last term, when they ended up in 10th place in the table and without a trophy.
Henry has been particularly impressed by Chelsea’s ability to absorb pressure and keep their opponents at bay when required.
Speaking to Sky Sports on Sunday, Henry said: “Not only do the other teams look vulnerable, but they also concede. That’s important.
“We talk about bossing the game defensively, and being on the ball. That Chelsea team can boss the ball in another way; when the other team are on the ball, it looks like they are in control anyway, even though they are defending.”
Chelsea will face off with Henry’s former club Arsenal in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on 4 February.
The Blues won the Premier League and League Cup under Jose Mourinho in the 2014-15 season.
