Top attacker has already agreed a shirt number at Man United ahead of summer move – report
Antoine Griezmann has emerged as Manchester United's top transfer target for the summer, say reports
Antoine Griezmann has already agreed a shirt number with Manchester United ahead of a proposed summer transfer to Old Trafford from Atletico Madrid, according to reports in the British media.
The Independent is reporting that the France international has emerged as the Red Devils’ top transfer target for the summer as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his squad at Old Trafford.
The same report claims that the deal to sign Griezmann could eclipse the world-record transfer fee paid by Manchester United to sign Paul Pogba last summer.
The story also says that defender Luke Shaw could be sold by the Red Devils in the summer window.
The report goes on to explain that Manchester United would likely to have to match Griezmann’s €100m (£87m) buyout clause to land the player at the end of the season.
It is also claimed that Atletico Madrid will revive their interest in re-signing Diego Costa if Griezmann does indeed leave the club in the summer.
Manchester United are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table as they look to break into the top four in Jose Mourinho’s first season in charge at Old Trafford.
