Mark Lawrenson states his prediction for Tottenham v Aston Villa

Mark Lawrenson looks ahead to Tottenham's FA Cup third-round clash against Aston Villa at White Hart Lane on Sunday

Mark Lawrenson is tipping Tottenham to book their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup by beating Aston Villa 2-0 at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

The Lilywhites head into the game on the back of their impressive 2-0 win over Chelsea on Wednesday night as they reignited their Premier League title challenge.

That win left Tottenham third in the Premier League table and seven points behind leaders Chelsea after 20 games of the new season under Mauricio Pochettino.

Spurs will now switch their attentions to cup affairs at White Hart Lane as they take on Steve Bruce’s Aston Villa side in north London on Saturday.

And Lawrenson does not see Spurs having any trouble in booking their place in the next round of the FA Cup.

Writing in his column for BBC Sport, Lawrenson said: “Tottenham should make pretty comfortable progress. 2-0.”
