Mark Lawrenson states prediction for Tottenham v West Brom
The former Liverpool defender is confident that Tottenham Hotspur will get past Swansea City on Saturday afternoon
Mark Lawrenson is confident that in-form Tottenham Hotspur will beat West Brom at White Hart Lane in Saturday’s early kick-off in the Premier League.
The north London side haven’t put a foot wrong in the title race in recent weeks after the Lilywhites notched up five successive victories in the Premier League.
Indeed, Tottenham were 2-0 winners against current leaders Chelsea in their last Premier League fixture at White Hart Lane earlier this month thanks to goals from Dele Alli either side of half-time.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder has now scored five times in their last three Premier League games to underline that he is one of the Premier League’s form players.
Tottenham have won eight times and drawn twice in their 10 Premier League games at White Hart Lane in the 2016-17 season so far.
Former Liverpool and Republic of Ireland defender Lawrenson is confident that Tottenham will beat West Brom at White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon.
“The Baggies will create chances at White Hart Lane too and will make it difficult for Tottenham, as they do against every team,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.
“But I still expect Tottenham to win, because they are absolutely flying right now. Dele Alli is on fire for Spurs and the game must seem so easy to him at the moment.
“He made the difference in their win over top-of-the-table Chelsea in their last Premier League game, when he stood out from every other player on the pitch.
“When Alli is in that kind of form, Spurs are hard to stop.”
Tottenham are in third place in the Premier League table.
