Watch: Thibaut Courtois shows off his free-kick ability ahead of Leicester v Chelsea
The Chelsea goalkeeper looks to be a pretty decent free-kick taker
Thibaut Courtois could be rivalling Eden Hazard and Willian for free-kick duty after Chelsea goalkeeper posted a clip from set-piece training.
The Belgium international is known as one of the Premier League’s best goalkeepers after establishing himself as Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper following his return to the west London club from a three-year loan spell at Atletico Madrid.
Hazard and Willian are the normal suspects on set-piece duty and the Brazil international proved particularly prolific from free-kicks in the 2015-16 season.
While Courtois is know for his world-class saves and his command of the penalty area, the Belgian shot stopper looks to be pretty good with his feet from dead ball situations.
Courtois posted the above clip from a Chelsea training session on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption:
“Sometimes I score too! 😉⚽️🎯 #CFC”
Chelsea are sitting at the top of the Premier League table and five points clear of their closest rivals Liverpool.
The Blues will make the trip to defending champions Leicester City in their next top-flight outing.
