Wes Brown names the Man United player to watch under Jose Mourinho

The former Manchester United defender believes Paul Pogba will prove a huge success at Old Trafford

Paul Pogba is the Manchester United player to watch under Jose Mourinho over the next few years, according to Wes Brown.

The Red Devils signed the France international in a world-record £89m deal from Serie A champions Juventus in the summer transfer window.

Pogba has enjoyed a solid if unspectacular start to life under Mourinho following his return to Old Trafford.

The midfielder has scored four goals and has made three assists in 20 appearances in the 2016-17 Premier League season so far.

However, the 23-year-old midfielder struggled during Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

Pogba conceded a first-half penalty to provide James Milner with the chance to make the breakthrough from the spot.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic spared Pogba’s blushes with an equaliser six minutes from time to rescue a point for the visitors.

Speaking to Sky Sports News on Wednesday morning, former Manchester United defender Brown leaped to the defence of Pogba.

“Since watching him as a kid, it didn’t matter what level, he was always that good. He is a very confident player. He believes in himself and he has the skill to back that up. He is physically strong and he sees things as well. He has fitted in well,” Brown said.

“It’s early doors and he will want to do more. He will be the one to watch at Manchester United.”
