Antonio Conte: What I really think about Arsenal this season

Antonio Conte delivers his verdict on Arsenal ahead of the crunch showdown with Chelsea on Saturday

Antonio Conte has warned his Chelsea side that Arsenal will pose a serious threat to their title hopes at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The north London side head into the game on the back of their surprise 2-1 loss to Watford at The Emirates on Tuesday night as they lost further ground on Chelsea in the race for the title.

The result left Arsenal third in the table and nine points behind Conte’s side as they gear up for their crunch clash against the Blues.

Arsenal were 3-0 winners over Chelsea at The Emirates back in September but the Blues have not looked back since that loss and have gone on to establish themselves as the firm favourites to win the title this season.

And Conte is wary of the threat posted by the Gunners ahead of Saturday’s showdown at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking at his pre-match news conference on Friday afternoon, Conte said of Arsenal: “We must pay great attention.

“I watched their game [against Watford] and sometimes the final result doesn’t tell the truth. Arsenal were unlucky. Watford played a really good game. Arsenal had a lot of opportunities to score a goal and win the game.

“They are in good shape and good form, and the result is a strange result.”
