Antonio Conte has admitted his delight at the way N’Golo Kante has settled into life at Chelsea following his transfer from Leicester City in the summer.

The French midfielder earned plenty of praise last season after his fine performances in central midfield helped Leicester win the Premier League title.

Kante has since been a regular fixture in the Chelsea team following his arrival at Stamford Bridge in the summer.

The midfielder has been ever-present in Conte’s starting line-up this season and has been a key cog in the Chelsea midfield.

The Blues are leading the way at the top of the Premier League table after having established themselves as the firm favourites to win the title this season.

And Conte admits that he has been thrilled by the impact Kante has had at Chelsea so far this term.

Conte told Sky Italia after Chelsea’s win over Arsenal at the weekend: “Kante is extraordinary. He brings a lot of quantity, OK, but what quality too.

“Even if he should improve in his build-up play. His first pass is always horizontal and he needs to make that vertical. I was just like him, so I do understand.

“He’s a really good lad, always helping his team-mates. He’s been a great buy, though he’s often tired by the time he gets to the goal. He’s still young and can improve.”
