Arsenal and Man United in talks to sign 23-year-old midfielder
Fabinho's father says both Manchester clubs and Arsenal are keen on signing the Monaco star this summer
Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal are all in talks with Monaco to sign midfielder Fabinho this summer, according to the player’s father.
Fabinho was linked with a transfer to Manchester United last summer before Jose Mourinho’s first full season in charge at Old Trafford but a move failed to materialise for the Brazilian.
Now, the player’s father Joao Fabinho has claimed that both Manchester United clubs, as well as Arsenal and Barcelona, have shown an interest in signing the 23-year-old.
Speaking in an interview with Jplus1, Joao Fabinho said: “We have been in talks with Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and approached by Barcelona.
“We like Manchester United and Mourinho’s work, but we have a soft spot for Manchester City.”
There is bound to be plenty of speculation linking the Premier League’s top clubs with a host of players as the summer transfer window draws ever nearer.
Originally a right-back, Fabinho has been deployed in central midfield for Monaco for most of this season.
Fabinho has scored five goals and made one assist in 24 Ligue 1 games for Monaco so far this term.
