Arsene Wenger makes plea to Arsenal fans ahead of Hull clash
Arsene Wenger calls on Arsenal's fans to get behind his players ahead of Saturday's clash with Hull
Arsene Wenger has called on Arsenal fans to rally around his team ahead of the Gunners’ clash with Hull City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The north London side are currently gearing up for their Premier League clash against the Tigers as they look to get back to winning ways in the top flight.
Arsenal head into the game after having suffered back to back defeats by Watford and Chelsea to all but end their title hopes and leave them 12 points behind top spot.
The Gunners are aiming to get their season back on track after a shaky start to 2017.
Arsenal will look to get back to winning ways when they host the Tigers at The Emirates in front of their home fans on Saturday lunchtime.
And Wenger has called on Arsenal’s supporters to full get behind their team ahead of the Premier League showdown.
Speaking at his pre-match news conference on Thursday morning, Wenger said: “Our fans have been consistent and have a high level of expectation as I do but I don’t feel you can be a fan until last Tuesday and then not be behind the team any more – it doesn’t make sense.
“All the other clubs, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, they have big expectations and big history. We are in a fight and we have to be united or we have no chance.
“You have Tottenham as well and everyone is behind their team and we have to do the same. Even if we have had two disappointed results I want the fans to be behind the team. Focus on what we do well. They were great players last Tuesday and they are still great players.”
