Arturo Vidal responds to talk of summer Chelsea transfer

Arturo Vidal dismisses the speculation linking him with a possible move to Chelsea

Arturo Vidal has dismissed the speculation linking him with a possible reunion with Antonio Conte at Chelsea this summer.

The Chile international was touted as a possible transfer target for the west London club in the January transfer window but a move failed to materialise.

Vidal played under new Chelsea boss Conte during the pair’s time together at Juventus and it had been suggested that he could be a target for the west London side.

However, the Bayern Munich star has now moved to dampen those rumours by insisting that he is happy at the Allianz Arena.

Vidal told Sport Bild: “They are only rumours that come about quickly. Ultimately, I played four very successful years under coach Conte at Juventus.

“But there’s no reason for me to leave Bayern. I wear this jersey with pride. I feel good, my wife feels good and the children are happy.

“And I still have big goals in Munich.”

There is bound to be plenty of speculation linking Chelsea with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as the summer transfer window draws ever nearer.
