Harry Redknapp states his prediction for Bayern Munich v Arsenal
Harry Redknapp looks ahead to Arsenal's clash with Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday
Harry Redknapp is fully backing Bayern Munich to beat Arsenal in Wednesday night’s Champions League last-16 clash on Wednesday night.
The north London side head into the first leg of the tie at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night fresh from their 2-0 win over Hull City at The Emirates on Saturday afternoon.
The Bundesliga champions are the heavy favourites to seal victory in front of their home fans against the Gunners and former Tottenham boss Redknapp cannot see past a home win on Wednesday night.
Speaking in an interview with Betsafe, Redknapp said: “I’d be banking Bayern – Arsenal don’t fill me with great confidence at the moment.
“I know Arsenal have been there and done well in the past but the atmosphere will be electric and I just think Bayern will have too much for them.
“I’d be 100 per cent behind Bayern winning”
Arsenal are looking to progress to the last 16 of Europe’s elite club competition for the first time in six years this season.
The north London side have fallen off the pace in the race for the Premier League title and are currently 10 points behind leaders Chelsea.
It remains to be seen whether manager Arsene Wenger will commit his future to the Gunners beyond this summer.
