Paul Merson is tipping Chelsea to secure a thumping 3-1 win over Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

Both teams head into the game looking to return to winning ways after they dropped points in their midweek fixtures.

Arsenal were sent crashing to a shock 2-1 loss to Watford at The Emirates, while Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw by Liverpool at Anfield.

Chelsea head into the London derby as the firm favourites to win the Premier League title this season, with the Blues currently nine points clear at the top of the table.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are in third place and are in desperate need of a win to keep their fading title hopes alive.

However, former Arsenal man Merson is tipping Chelsea to claim all three points at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Merson said: “Arsenal were shocking on Tuesday against Watford and they won’t be relishing this trip to Stamford Bridge.

“It’s a must-win game for Arsenal after their defeat to the Hornets, and they have got to go for it against the best team in the country.

“That will play into Chelsea’s hands. I just can’t make a case for Arsenal here. Chelsea are running away with the league and I think they’ll claim a comprehensive victory.”
