Eden Hazard: This is why I’m playing better for Chelsea under Antonio Conte
Eden Hazard lifts the lid on his Chelsea resurgence under new boss Antonio Conte
Eden Hazard has revealed that staying injury free this season has been the key to his improved form for Chelsea under new boss Antonio Conte.
The Belgian playmaker was widely criticised for failing to deliver last term as he and his Chelsea team-mates struggled to produce consistent form, leaving them 10th in the table and without a trophy following the sacking of Jose Mourinho in December 2015.
Hazard has been in much improved form this term and has been one of the Premier League’s standout players.
The 26-year-old has already scored 10 goals and made three assists in 24 Premier League appearances for Conte’s side to help the Blues establish themselves as the firm favourites to win the title this season.
And the Belgium international has lifted the lid on what he thinks has changed for him at Chelsea this season.
Hazard is quoted as saying by The Daily Express: “Last season everyone knows I was not good enough.
“But you learn from your mistakes. I gave everything to come back and now I am in my level.
“So I started this season well – fit, with no injuries and it is better to play when you are ready. I want to enjoy being on the pitch. So this is the key.”
Chelsea take on Swansea City in the Premier League this weekend.
