Don Hutchison accused Mesut Ozil of a lack of effort during Arsenal’s 3-1 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime.

The north London side fell behind in the 13th minute at Stamford Bridge when Marcos Alonso headed home from close range after Diego Costa’s header was parried by Petr Cech in the Arsenal goal.

The Gunners had chances to level the score before the break but ended up going in at half-time 1-0 down.

Eden Hazard then made it 2-0 shortly after half-time with a superb solo goal, before substitute Cesc Fabregas added a third following a mistake from Cech.

Substitute Olivier Giroud then nodded home a late consolation goal for the visitors.

Chelsea looked relatively comfortable in front of their home fans at Stamford Bridge and former midfielder Hutchison was less than impressed by Ozil’s showing in the first half in west London.

The former midfielder tweeted during the game:

Ozil has been a regular fixture in the Arsenal first team this season and has scored five goals and made four assists in 20 Premier League games this term.
