Ian Wright states his prediction for Fulham v Tottenham

Ian Wright is confident that Tottenham Hotspur will beat Fulham and are one of the favourites for the FA Cup

Ian Wright believes Tottenham Hotspur will beat Fulham and underline their status as one of the favourites for the FA Cup this season.

The north London side will be desperate to bounce back from their surprise 2-0 loss to top-four rivals Liverpool in the Premier League last weekend.

Mauricio Pochettino’s week got worse on Thursday night after the Lilywhites suffered a shock 1-0 loss to Belgian outfit Genk in the first leg of their Europa League last-32 tie.

Tottenham are still waiting to win their first piece of silverware under their Argentinian manager after losing to Chelsea in the League Cup final in 2015 before finishing in third place in the title race last term.

Fulham, meanwhile, have won their last two Championship games by a 3-2 scoreline to build some momentum ahead of an intriguing London derby at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking to The Sun Goals podcast ahead of the clash between the London sides in the FA Cup fifth round, Wright said:

“You give them a little bit of hope given the fact that they’re playing at home and they’re playing well.

“Spurs have come of a couple of not very good performances by their standards. I though the Wycombe game was a brilliant game.

“It will be a tight game but Tottenham have players in reserve who can come off the bench and win the match for them… This is a great opportunity for Spurs to win a trophy. I’m going to go for Spurs to win it.”
