Glenn Hoddle makes confident prediction about Chelsea after FA Cup win

The former Chelsea manager has his say on their double prospects after the Blues were 2-0 winners against Wolves

Glenn Hoddle believes Chelsea are capable of winning the Premier League title and the FA Cup this season after Saturday evening’s 2-0 win at Wolves.

The Blues booked their place in the quarter-final draw of the FA Cup after goals from Pedro Rodriguez and Diego Costa in the second half at the Molineaux.

Chelsea are eight points clear of second-placed Manchester City in the title race as Antonio Conte looks to win the Premier League in his first season at Stamford Bridge.

The west London outfit finished in tenth place in the Premier League table last season after a disappointing defence of their top-flight crown.

Speaking to BT Sport after Chelsea’s 2-0 win against Wolves in the fifth round, ex-Blues manager Hoddle backed the west London side to complete the double.

“Yes, I think so. They looked good. They made changes and they still looked comfortable in their roles,” Hoddle said.

“Conte knows he can make changes in the Premier League if he needs to, or if someone gets injured. He’s got people to go in there and I think that’s the basis of the back three. Since they changed to a back three they’ve been a different side.”

Chelsea signed five players in the summer transfer window following the appointment of Conte as their new manager.

The Blues haven’t won the FA Cup since beating Liverpool at Wembley in 2012.
