Granit Xhaka: What I really think about Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez

Granit Xhaka opens up about his Arsenal team-mate Alexis Sanchez following his transfer to The Emirates

Granit Xhaka has admitted that he looks up to Alexis Sanchez as a role model at Arsenal.

The Swiss midfielder is currently getting used to life at The Emirates after arriving at the north London club from Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer transfer window.

Xhaka has been a regular fixture in the first team under Arsene Wenger and has just completed his four-game domestic suspension following his second red card of the season.

Sanchez has earned a reputation as one of the Premier League’s top attacking players since his arrival at Arsenal from Barcelona in the summer of 2014.

And Xhaka has admitted that he is already looking up to the Chile international as a role model on the pitch.

Speaking to Arsenal’s website, Xhaka said: “I think I would say Alexis can be a really big role model.

“The main reason is because he always goes to his absolute limit in training and in games.

“I think that attitude and that application is something young players can take a lot from.”

Arsenal, who are fourth in the Premier League table, are currently gearing up for their FA Cup fifth-round clash against Sutton United on Monday night.
