Guillem Balague provides update on Arsenal and Liverpool managers
The Liverpool manager isn't a target for Barcelona, while the La Liga giants aren't interested in Arsene Wenger, says Guillem Balague
Guillem Balague doesn’t believe Barcelona are interested in appointing Jurgen Klopp or Arsene Wenger as their next manager.
Current Barcelona boss Luis Enrique is coming under increasing pressure after a mixed 2016-17 La Liga campaign so far.
Indeed, the Catalan side suffered a surprise 4-0 loss to Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their last-16 tie in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Klopp took over the reins at Liverpool back in October 2015 and the former Borussia Dortmund boss has made steady progress at the Merseyside outfit.
Wenger, on the other hand, hasn’t signalled whether he will be at Arsenal beyond the end of the current campaign.
Asked about the possibility of Barcelona appointed Klopp as their new manager during a question and answer session on Sky Sports News HQ, Balague said:
“Barcelona have no interest in Klopp or Wenger. As far as Klopp is concerned, it is not because he isn’t good – he quite clearly is – but rather because there is no way they could ever coax him away from Liverpool. Wenger, meanwhile does not figure in their plans.”
Liverpool are in fifth place in the Premier League table but level on points with Arsenal in fourth spot.
The Reds signed seven players in the summer transfer window.
