Henrikh Mkhitaryan has praised Juan Mata as “world class” after the pair combined brilliantly for Manchester United’s third goal against Leicester on Sunday.

Mkhitaryan was in fine form for the Red Devils at the King Power Stadium as Jose Mourinho’s men returned to winning ways in the top flight with a 3-0 win over the champions.

The summer signing set Manchester United on their way towards victory with a superb solo goal in the first half, before Zlatan Ibrahimovic added a second shortly after.

Mata and Mkhitaryan then combined superbly for Manchester United’s third goal shortly after half-time.

And the Armenia international was full of praise for Mata after Manchester United’s convincing victory against the Foxes.

Speaking to Manchester United’s website after the game, Mkhitaryan said: “He’s a world-class player and I knew that if I controlled that ball, he has to open up himself in the space and that’s what happened.

“I just played it there because I knew that he was going to be there and he scored a nice goal.”
