Ian Wright explains why Chelsea will be champions

Ian Wright says Chelsea are on course to win the Premier League title this season

Ian Wright is fully expecting to see Chelsea win the Premier League title this season because of their attitude.

The Blues have been installed as the heavy favourites to lift the top-flight title in May after their brilliant start to the campaign under new boss Antonio Conte.

Chelsea have built an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League table as they bid to win the trophy they last won in the 2014-15 season under Jose Mourinho.

The west London side are widely expected to go on and win the title this term as they bounced back in style from their disastrous campaign last season.

And former Arsenal star Wright has explained just why he expects to see the west London side lift the trophy at the end of the season.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, Wright said: “They’re in Premier League champion mode.

“You’ve got David Luiz blasting the ball out of play and everybody getting back to their positions and getting ready for the next onslaught.

“They just look like a team that know exactly where they’re going right now.

“Their goalkeeper made another good save, they could have lost the game but they’ve stepped up.

“They’re playing exactly how they should play to try and win the league when you’re that far in front.”
