Jamie Carragher makes admission about Man United

Jamie Carragher believes that Manchester United are not getting the result that their good play deserves

Jamie Carragher believes that Manchester United are not getting the goals that their attacking play deserves this season.

The Red Devils stretched their unbeaten run in the Premier League to 16 games on Saturday with a 2-0 victory over Watford at Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho has been tasked with steering Manchester United back into the top four of the Premier League after their fifth-placed finish in the top flight last term.

The Red Devils are currently sixth in the table as they bid to secure Champions League qualification for next season.

Manchester United have earned praise for their attacking displays in recent weeks under new boss Mourinho.

And Liverpool legend Carragher concedes that the Red Devils have not been getting the goals they deserve for their attacking play.

Speaking to Sky Sports on Sunday, Carragher said: “It was a big result.

“I don’t think it was ever in doubt really after the first 15 minutes of the game had past.

“There was only ever going to be one winner and I think Watford can think of themselves as lucky that it wasn’t five or six really.

“I think it’s a carbon copy of what we’ve been looking in the last 20 or so games. Plenty of chances created, looking exciting when they go forward.

“Maybe they’re not getting the goals that they deserve with the chances they’re creating, and that’s the story of the game again today.”
