Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink comments on Chelsea’s title hopes

The former Chelsea man feels that the Blues have already done enough to win the title this season

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is tipping Chelsea to win the Premier League title this season.

The Blues have been the Premier League’s top performing team this season and have earned plenty of praise for their performances.

Chelsea have built an eight-point lead at the top of the table and have established themselves as the firm favourites to win the title.

The west London side were held to a 1-1 draw by Burnley at Turf Moor at the weekend as they allowed Manchester City to close the gap to the leaders.

However, former Chelsea man Hasselbaink is certain that the Blues have already done enough to take home the title this season.

Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ on Wednesday morning, Hasselbaink said: “It’s a good point for me, at Burnley. It’s a difficult place to go.

“You have to give Burnley credit because not a lot of teams go there and win, only Man City and Arsenal, who were quite lucky.

“So for Chelsea to go there, winning 1-0 and then they score a stunner, I think it’s a good result.

“Man United still have to go there, Tottenham still have to go there, so it’s not going to be easy.

“Chelsea have found a way of how to play, and they are very calm and relaxed within that, very confident.

“I don’t see them losing three games out of the 13 games they have left.

“Also, they don’t have any European games, they only have the FA Cup and the Premier League, so they can concentrate in midweek, from Saturday to Saturday and really prepare. I think they will be too far ahead for the others.”

Chelsea are currently gearing up for their FA Cup fifth-round clash against Wolves this weekend.

The Blues’ upturn in form this term has been in stark contrast to their struggles last season, when they finished 10th and without a trophy.
