John Terry reacts to Cesc Fabregas’ display in Chelsea’s 2-0 win at Wolves in FA Cup
The Chelsea captain is full of praise for Cesc Fabregas after their 2-0 win at Wolves in the FA Cup
John Terry admitted that Cesc Fabregas has been unfortunate not to start more game this season after the Chelsea midfielder’s dominant performance in Saturday’s 2-0 win at Wolves in the FA Cup.
The Spain international has struggled to tie down a regular starting spot in Antonio Conte’s first-team after the Italian took over the reins from Guus Hiddink at the start of the 2016-17 season.
Fabregas has been given a chance to impress in the west London side’s FA Cup campaign and the former Barcelona midfielder started in the heart of Conte’s midfield for the trip to Wolves in the fifth round.
And the ex-Arsenal captain was one of Chelsea’s standout players as he touched the ball 129 times and finished with a pass completion of 81 per cent at Molineaux.
Speaking to BT Sport after Chelsea’s 2-0 win in the FA Cup, captain Terry heaped praise on Fabregas for his influential performance at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
“He’s been brilliant all season and he’s unlucky not to be playing. All we can do as a group of players is to be there for the ones who are playing and making sure that the manager knows that if we’re needed, we’re available,” Terry said.
Fabregas moved to Chelsea in a big-money deal from La Liga giants Barcelona in 2014.
