Neither the Blues or the Reds have had to worry about European competition this term after they finished 10th and eight in the Premier League respectively last term.
Manchester United, meanwhile, have had to deal with the burden of Europa League football this term following their fifth-placed finish last season under Louis van Gaal.
The Red Devils are currently off the pace in the race for a top four finish this season, with Mourinho’s men sixth in the table and 14 points behind leaders Chelsea.
And Mourinho feels that both Liverpool and Chelsea have a significant advantage in the race for the title this term.
Speaking at his pre-match news conference about Chelsea and Liverpool, Mourinho said: “If a player has fatigue, there is no fatigue.
“If the player has a small injury, there is no accumulation so in the end the team, by the tactical point of view, becomes better than the others that don’t have the same time to work.”
Manchester United are preparing to take on Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
