Jose Mourinho orders Man United scouts to watch Premier League winger – report
Manchester United have reportedly been monitoring Michail Antonio's performances for West Ham in recent weeks
Jose Mourinho has ordered his Manchester United scouts to follow West Ham winger Michail Antonio, according to reports in the British media.
The People – as reported by The Daily Star – claim that the Red Devils are keeping tabs on the West Ham man ahead of a potential summer transfer bid for the winger.
The same report states that Everton have also been keeping a close eye on Antonio as the build-up to the summer transfer window continues to gather pace, with Chelsea another side linked with the winger.
Antonio has been West Ham’s star player this season, scoring eight goals and making five assists in 24 Premier League games for the east London side.
The winger was touted as a possible target for Chelsea in the January transfer window but a move failed to materialise during what ended up being a very quiet month for the Premier League’s top clubs.
The same story quotes West Ham boss Slaven Bilic as saying that Antonio could be close to signing a new deal at the London Stadium.
“I don’t know all the details but I hope a new deal is close, even done,” said Bilic.
