Jose Mourinho to sell Man United defender to make space for left-back signing – report
The Manchester United manager still isn't convinced about Daley Blind ahead of the summer transfer window, according to reports
Jose Mourinho will sell Daley Blind in the summer transfer window in order to make room for a specialist left-back signing in the Manchester United team, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun are reporting that the Netherlands international could be sold at the end of the 2016-17 season despite a solid campaign under the new manager following Mourinho’s appointment in May.
Manchester United have the third-best defensive record in the Premier League this season – only Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have conceded less goals than the 20-time English champions.
The same article states that Blind is running out of time to win over Mourinho as the Manchester United manager looks at potential signings in the summer transfer window.
Blind’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the 2017-18 season after the versatile defender moved to Manchester United in a £16m deal from Eredivisie giants Ajax in 2014.
Manchester United will take on Southampton in the EFL Cup final at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.
