Juan Mata heaps praise on Anthony Martial after Manchester United's 2-0 win over Watford on Saturday

Juan Mata singled out Anthony Martial for special praise after Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Watford on Saturday.

The French striker was restored to the starting line-up by Jose Mourinho for the Premier League game as the Red Devils made it back to back wins in the top flight.

Martial produced an impressive display in front of Manchester United’s home fans and set the Red Devils on their way to victory when he set up Mata for the opener in the first half.

The France international then scored his side’s second after the break to wrap up the three points for Mourinho’s men.

Martial had struggled to produce consistent form for Manchester United under new boss Mourinho this season.

But Mata feels that the forward has now proved that he can be a key player for the Red Devils between now and the end of the season.

Speaking to Manchester United’s website, Mata said: “I was very happy for him.

“There were some difficult weeks for him but he has been training good.
