Juan Mata sets Man United target after Watford win

Juan Mata says Manchester United will aim to finish as highly as possible in the Premier League after their 2-0 win over Watford

Juan Mata says Manchester United will look to finish as highly as possible in the Premier League table in the wake of their 2-0 win over Watford on Saturday.

The Spanish playmaker scored the opener for the Red Devils at Old Trafford against the Hornets, before Anthony Martial added a second after half-time to wrap up all three points for Jose Mourinho’s men.

Manchester United are now unbeaten in 16 Premier League games and have been in much better form in the second half of the season.

The Red Devil’s first aim will be to finish in the top four in Mourinho’s first season in charge.

However, the Spanish playmaker feels that the Red Devils will be able to do better than just secure Champions League qualification.

Speaking to BBC Sport after Saturday’s win, Mata said: “It is very, very difficult. First of all is to get into the top four.

“We have been winning games but not going higher in the table. We want to go higher and higher. We never know where we will finish.”
