Kurt Zouma sends message to Chelsea fans about his future
Kurt Zouma reveals that he plans to hold talks with Chelsea about his future at the end of the season
Kurt Zouma has revealed that he plans to hold talks with Chelsea about his future at the club at the end of the season.
The French defender has struggled to break into the first team at Stamford Bridge this season following Antonio Conte’s appointment as the club’s new manager and his lengthy recovery from a serious knee injury.
The defender missed most of last season after suffering the injury and requiring surgery and a lengthy recovery process.
Zouma will be hoping to break back into the Chelsea team before the end of the season as he bids to hold down a spot in the starting line-up.
However, the defender has hinted that he may have to consider his future at the west London club in the summer if he does not manage to hold down a regular spot.
Speaking to L’Equipe, Zouma said: “We’ll have to see how the second half of the season goes.
“The team is the priority – first of all, to be champions!
“After that, yes, we’ll have to talk, because I’m young, and it’s at my age that you have to play the most.
“For the moment, I’m waiting, I’m happy the team is winning, even if at a moment in time, I’m going to have to play if I want to achieve my objectives and get back into the France team.
“There will be discussions, but once again, I’m not worried about all that. For the moment, it’s the team that counts.”
Zouma will be hoping to feature for Chelsea when the Blues travel to Burnley on Sunday afternoon.
