Mourinho gives latest Man United injury update ahead of Leicester trip

Jose Mourinho delivers the latest Manchester United team news ahead of Sunday's trip to Leicester

Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Phil Jones is Manchester United’s only absentee for Sunday’s Premier League clash with Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

The Red Devils head into the game looking to return to winning ways in the top flight after the disappointment of their goalless draw with Hull City at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

That result marked Manchester United’s third successive draw in the Premier League and left them 14 points behind leaders Chelsea heading into this weekend’s round of fixtures.

Jones picked up a knock at Old Trafford on Wednesday night and Mourinho confirmed that the defender would miss the trip to the King Power Stadium this weekend.

Speaking at his pre-match news conference on Friday afternoon, Mourinho said: “Only Phil Jones is not in the condition to play.”

Mourinho has been tasked with steering Manchester United back into the Champions League after the Red Devils ended up in fifth place in the Premier League table last season under Louis van Gaal.
