Liverpool hold talks with forward as Jurgen Klopp looks to reunite with Germany star – report
Liverpool are looking to reunite Jurgen Klopp with Mario Gotze in the summer transfer window, according to reports
Liverpool are lining up an offer for Mario Gotze as Jurgen Klopp looks to reunite with the Borussia Dortmund forward, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror are claiming that the Merseyside outfit are planning to put together a £20m offer for the Germany international despite Gotze returning to the German club last summer.
The same article states that Liverpool have already spoken with the World Cup winner about a potential move to the 18-time English champions at the end of the 2016-17 season.
The story goes on to claim that Gotze has failed to secure a regular starting spot in Thomas Tuchel’s Dortmund side which has left the door ajar for Liverpool to swoop for the forward.
Gotze has scored one goal and has made one assist in 11 games in the Bundesliga in the current campaign following his move to Dortmund from Bayern Munich last summer.
Liverpool are in fifth place in the Premier League table and 10 points adrift of leaders Chelsea in the title race.
