Lucas Perez provides update on Arsenal future: I feel really comfortable
The Arsenal striker insists he feels really comfortable at the north London club despite recent transfer speculation
Lucas Perez has reiterated that he feels really comfortable at Arsenal despite recent transfer speculation surrounding his future.
The Arsenal striker scored the north London side’s opener in a 2-0 win against Non League outfit Sutton United in the FA Cup fifth round on Monday night.
The Gunners signed Perez in a surprise £19m deal from La Liga outfit Deportivo La Coruna in the 2016 summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old centre-forward has scored eight times and has made three assists in 19 games in all competitions in the 2016-17 season so far.
Perez has been linked with a move to Serie A giants AC Milan in recent weeks but his agent has since hit out at the transfer speculation.
Speaking to Arsenal’s website about his future at the north London club, Perez insisted that he has easily slotted into the Gunners squad since his summer transfer.
“It was still quite a change for me to get used to the English league when I moved here from Spain,” Perez told Arsenal’s website. “Everyone needs some time to adjust.
“Players are all different, so some take longer to adapt than others. Now I feel really comfortable and I’ve fitted in well to the team – that’s particularly important for a player.”
Arsenal are in fourth place in the Premier League table and 10 points behind current leaders Chelsea in the title race.
The Gunners will take on Lincoln City in the FA Cup quarter-final at the Emirates Stadium.
