Man United to launch bid to sign Premier League star – report

Manchester United could make a fresh bid to sign Willian from Chelsea in the summer, say reports

Manchester United will launch a fresh bid to try and lure Willian from Chelsea to Old Trafford this summer, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Star is reporting that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is keen for a reunion with the Brazil international at Old Trafford as he bids to strengthen his squad at Old Trafford ahead of his second season in charge at the club.

Willian played under Mourinho at Chelsea and helped the Blues win the Premier League and League Cup in the 2014-15 campaign with the Portuguese coach at the helm.

The Brazilian was reportedly the subject of interest from Manchester United in the January transfer window but a move failed to materialise.

The same story in The Daily Star says that Chelsea would take some serious persuading about selling to one of their Premier League rivals, but that a bid of around £40m could tempt them into a deal.
