Eric Bailly states his prediction for Man United v Saint-Etienne
Eric Bailly looks ahead to Manchester United's Europa League clash with Saint-Etienne
Eric Bailly has warned his Manchester United team-mates that they are in for a stern test of their Europa League credentials when they host Saint-Etienne at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
The Red Devils head into the game on the back of their 2-0 win over Watford at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League.
Jose Mourinho’s men will look to beat the Ligue 1 side at Old Trafford as they bid to take a step closer towards reaching the last 16 of Europe’s second tier club competition.
However, Ivorian defender Bailly has warned that Manchester United are likely to have their work cut out against the French side.
Speaking at his pre-match news conference at Carrington on Wednesday afternoon, Bailly said: “Well we’re aware of what a good season they’re having. They’re on a good run of form.
“We’re able to see French football on TV and we know they’ve got a really good group dynamic and I think they’re going to be a threat.”
Manchester United know that winning the Europa League this season would offer them a direct route into next term’s Champions League.
Mourinho’s side are currently in sixth place in the Premier League table in the race for a top-four finish.
