Marcos Alonso sends message to Chelsea team-mate: Don’t do this
Marcos Alonso wants to see Thibaut Courtois commit his future to Chelsea and not leave the club
Marcos Alonso has pleaded with Thibaut Courtois to ignore the speculation linking him with a possible transfer to Real Madrid and instead commit his future to Chelsea.
The Belgian goalkeeper has earned a reputation as one of the Premier League’s top shot-stoppers since his arrival at the club and has helped the Blues establish themselves as the firm favourites to win the title this season.
Courtois has been touted as a possible transfer target for Real Madrid in recent weeks along with Manchester United shot-stopper David De Gea.
However, full-back Alonso, who joined Chelsea from Fiorentina last summer, is hoping that Courtois ignores the reported interest from Real Madrid and instead commits his future to the Blues.
Alonso told Onda Cero show Radio Estadio: “I really hope [Courtois doesn’t move to Real Madrid] because he is great goalkeeper and he is helping us every game.”
Chelsea are currently 10 points clear at the top of the Premier League table after their 1-1 draw with Burnley on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues are the heavy favourites to win the title this season.
