Marcos Alonso: This Chelsea star has helped me a lot this season
Marcos Alonso reveals that Pedro helped him settle in to life at Chelsea following his summer switch
Marcos Alonso has revealed that Pedro Rodriguez has helped him settle into life at Chelsea following his summer switch to the west London side.
The Spanish full-back joined the Blues from Fiorentina last summer as one of Antonio Conte’s first signings as Chelsea boss.
The defender has been a regular fixture in the Chelsea first team this season and has earned plenty of praise for his displays for the west London side.
Alonso has helped Chelsea build an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League table and firmly establish themselves as the favourites to win the title this season.
And the Spaniard has lifted the lid on how his compatriot has helped him to settle into life at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking to Chelsea’s website, Alonso said: “Pedro is a very good friend and I like to catch up with him after training.
“I didn’t know him before I came here but he’s been a great help since I arrived.
“We go for dinner quite regularly and we went to the NBA at the O2 together. I’m not a massive basketball fan but I follow some of the Spanish players.”
Chelsea, who are eight points clear of second-placed Manchester City in the Premier League, are currently gearing up for their FA Cup fifth-round clash against Wolves this weekend.
