Martin Keown makes exciting Liverpool transfer prediction
The former Arsenal defender is backing Jurgen Klopp to make big changes in the summer transfer window
Martin Keown has tipped Jurgen Klopp to make wholesale changes at Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
The Reds have endured a tough start to 2017 after a run of one victory in their opening eight games of the new year.
Liverpool signed seven players in the summer transfer window after the Merseyside outfit finished in eighth place last term.
Klopp snapped up Georginio Wijnaldum in a £25m deal from Newcastle United and signed Senegal international Sadio Mane in a £34m transfer from Southampton.
Liverpool haven’t made any January signings despite their poor run at the start of 2017, which has seen the Reds crashed out of the FA Cup and EFL Cup.
Speaking to BT Sport’s FA Cup Tonight show, former Arsenal defender Keown backed Klopp to make big changes at Anfield in the summer.
“There is an expectation that the players aren’t capable. I’m not sure the players are quite good enough for this manager. I expect wholesale changes at the end of the season,” Keown said.
Liverpool’s record signing remains Andy Carroll after the England striker moved to the Reds in a £35m deal from Newcastle United in 2011 before he was eventually sold to West Ham at a loss.
