Martin Keown tells Arsenal striker: Arsene Wenger perfect manager for you
The former Arsenal defender talks up the role Arsene Wenger will play in ensuring Danny Welbeck stays fit
Martin Keown believes Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck is playing under the perfect manager to nurture the forward back to full fitness from injury.
The England international made his long awaited return from a serious knee injury in the FA Cup last weekend after he was named in Wenger’s starting line-up.
Welbeck picked up a serious knee injury at the end of the 2015-16 campaign which brought to an end the striker’s hopes of playing at the European championship.
However, the 26-year-old took just 15 minutes to break the deadlock before he doubled the north London side’s lead to play his part in a 5-0 win in the fourth round at St Mary’s.
Speaking to BT Sport’s FA Cup Tonight show, former Arsenal defender Keown explained the benefits of Welbeck playing under Wenger.
Arsenal will take on non league side Sutton United in the FA Cup fifth round.
The Gunners will take on Chelsea in their next Premier League game at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
