Nathan Ake dicusses desire to secure Chelsea spot: I’m learning from great players

The Chelsea starlet is eyeing a regular spot in Antonio Conte's side

Nathan Ake is hoping to push on and secure a regular spot in the Chelsea team after the defender impressed in Saturday evening’s 2-0 win at Wolves in the FA Cup.

Antonio Conte handed the Netherlands starlet his second start since returning to the Premier League leaders from a loan spell at Bournemouth last month.

Indeed, Ake helped John Terry and Kurt Zouma to keep a clean sheet in what was a straightforward FA Cup win for the west London side at Molineux.

The versatile Chelsea defender’s performance earned praise from ex-Blues man Frank Sinclair on Twitter after building on the momentum he gained at Bournemouth.

Speaking to Chelsea’s website about his FA Cup start at Wolves, Ake expressed his delight to be learning from some established professionals at Stamford Bridge.

“I’m really happy to get another start, playing with great players,” Ake told Chelsea’s website. “I can only learn from that and hopefully I can push on and get better every time.”

Chelsea are looking to win the FA Cup for the first time since 2012 when the Blues were 2-1 winners against Liverpool in the final at Wembley.
