Nathan Ake was a happy man after helping Chelsea secure a 2-0 FA Cup win over Wolves on Saturday
Nathan Ake has taken to social media to send a heartfelt message of thanks to Chelsea fans after the Blues’ 2-0 FA Cup win over Wolves on Saturday night.
The 22-year-old defender played the full 90 minutes as goals from Pedro and Diego Costa in the second half secured Chelsea’s place in the sixth-round draw.
Ake made his second FA Cup appearance of the season for the Blues after he was recalled from his loan spell at Bournemouth last month by Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.
The Dutchman celebrated his birthday on Saturday and was clearly thrilled to get some game-time under his belt.
Ake posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “Happy to celebrate my 22nd birthday with a win!
“Tough game but through to the next round! Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone!🙏🏽🔥”
The defender will now be hoping to force his way back into the Chelsea team in the remaining games of the season.
