N'Golo Kante heaps praise on Eden Hazard following his sparkling form for Chelsea this season

N’Golo Kante has insisted that he was not at all surprised by Eden Hazard’s superb goal in Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Chelsea on Saturday.

Marcos Alonso put Chelsea ahead in the first half at Stamford Bridge, before Hazard netted a brilliant solo goal shortly after half-time.

It was Hazard’s 10th Premier League goal of the season and continued his fine form, with the Belgian having been one of the top-flight’s standout performers this term.

Kante admits that he is a huge admirer of Hazard but says that he was not surprised to see the Belgian score such a good goal agains the Gunners.

Speaking to Chelsea’s website after the game, Kante said: “We all know Eden Hazard has great technique and he scored a beautiful goal.

“It’s good for him and good for us.”

Saturday’s win left Chelsea flying high at the top of the Premier League table, with the Blues currently nine points clear of second-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
